Primary Shares

Primary Shares refer to new shares issued directly by a company to raise additional capital. The proceeds from these share sales go to the company’s balance sheet, often used for:

  • Business expansion.

  • Debt repayment.

  • Working capital.

  • Acquisitions.

Primary shares are typically issued during Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), secondary offerings, or private placements. They differ from secondary shares, which involve existing shareholders selling their stakes without raising new funds for the business.
